Tired of selling at the sale barn and being at the mercy of the commodity market? Its time for small Grass Fed Beef Producers to receive a fair price for all of the hard work that goes in to raising cattle. As cattle farmers ourselves, 7 years ago, we decided we were done selling our cattle at the auction. At Warren County Beef Co we are teaming up with local Beef Farmers who are or interested in doing, the following:
- Cow/Calf Operators raising Black Angus, Hereford or Angus/Hereford Cross
- Finishers who are committed to raising feeders solely on Grass
- Locally Raised
- No Hormones or Antibiotics Administered
- Target Live Weight 1,250 – 1,350 (Hanging Weight 750 – 850 lbs)
- We will facilitate the sale of calves to our approved Grass Fed Finishers at above market prices w/ no commissions
- All calves must receive our standard list of immunizations prior to sale
- If you don’t have a dependable quality source of feeder calves, WCB will help source feeders from our local cow/calf operators
- By Agreement, which includes a deposit, WCB will purchase your finished herd when they meet the standards above
- Final Live Weight & Sale of 100% Grass Fed & Finished Beef will occur at WCBs working facility in Hope, NJ
We keep it simple. Warren County Beef Co places 6-16 month feeder steers in the spring. We cover the cost of the steers, we take a certified weights on the lot, and in the fall when the steers are ready to be picked up, we take a final weight and pay you on the weight gain/difference. Our feeding program takes the risk out of raising feeder steers. If you would like to take some animals into the winter, that is an option and we pay more for doing so. We will insure the herd and list your farm as an additional insured on our policy.
